Does this look familiar to anyone?

While skimming through the result of my latest p2p downloading binge, I came across the following:

The self-proclaimed Herzog Akitrom the Merely Worried is the latest in a long line of lords of Castle Greyhawk. He has initiated an intense campaign of advertisement meant to encourage worldly powers such as the Queen of Celene and the petty nobles of the Wild Coast to send daring settlers to the lands about the castle. As the Player Characters begin their adventuring, the Herzog is currying the favor of three VIP guests and all seems to be going well. But hold! The druids of the Golden Bough (in retaliation for the Herzog’s Fireball Fun in the Forest program for visiting mages) are pummeling Castle Greyhawk with ferocious predators, tragic agricultural disasters, and horrific weather effects. Most disturbing of all, however, is the mysterious flood of fiendish monsters and ghastly creatures that has inexplicablly overrun the proud dungeons under the castle. Wherefore this invasion? Someone must find out!

The funny thing is, I can totally hear the author's voice reading this in a melodramatic fashion.

Oh, yeah.

This was back when TSR was angry with Gary Gygax, and decided a corporate policy to destroy (not merely stop publishing, but actually ruin) Greyhawk as a servicable role-playing environment. And they decided to do this by designing a big "super-module" calling itself Castle Greyhawk, and making it ridiculous.

Most of the dungeon levels were terribly unsuccessful attempts at humor (oh look, the Three Stooges in a dungeon!). My take was to be absolutely faithful to the original "brown box" set's narrative style, "let's screw the players" mindset, and spelling peculiarities. Which is why my set has the purplest prose I could muster, random PC abuses, and the "mini-onions of Set".

I didn't get that far into it, but I see what you're talking about...wait...YOU're the one responsible for the mini-onions of set? They made something like #3 on Dragon Magazine's worst monsters of all time a few years back.
